Dear Friends
Affectionate greetings from all the Children and Staff at Ashalayam!
The month of February had more of external activities than internal and our children were all on their toes to do it well. The workshop on National Initiative for Child protection had good number of participants and it was an enriching experience for the participants. The coming month is also important for our children as well as the others, because of the examinations. We wish them all best of success especially those who are going to appear for the Board Examinations.
May God bless you
With warm regards

The team consisted of boys below 12 years. It was interesting to see that even amidst the heightened game good sportive spirit prevailed among the children. They played enthusiastically and both teams scored one goal each and the match ended in a draw. The events had a happy ending with snacks and refreshments served to everyone.

“RIGHTS OF THE CHILD FOCUSING ON OUT OF SCHOOL WORKING CHILDREN”
Don Bosco Ashalayam ( CHILDLINE West) often does rescue operation. Rescue operation is the immediate response by law enforcement agencies to release a child from exploitation and prevent the crime of trafficking and child labour.
On 28th February 2013 DBA CHILDLINE team has done rescue operation at Mahavir Nagar and Rajori Garden. To our surprise all four children were bonded labourers’ and we are happy to have rescued them. We find that most of the rescued child labourers were trafficked from the villages of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Since they are all below 18 years of age the rescued children will benefit under Bonded Labour Act and Child Labour Act. We are very careful about maintaining the secrecy of the cases and on impending raid.
